Bad Review

I received an interesting email today that had a link to a book review that somebody had posted on their blog.  The book review was not a good one, yet it wasn't that bad either.  I couldn't believe what I read in the comments under the blog.  The Author of the book that was reviewed, bashed the reviewer.

Did she not understand what he wrote?  Even if she didn't understand what he wrote, the way that she acted on the Internet, was downright unprofessional.  And she shows other Author's... aspiring and otherwise... how NOT to act at all when receiving a not so stellar review.

It doesn't matter what your profession - Sales clerk, hair dresser, receptionist... Anybody who speaks that way to customers, potential customers, and in some cases, even co-workers; would lose their jobs on the spot.  Everybody should remember... your customers (no matter what profession you're in); they ARE your paychecks.

For an indie Author, even an Author with a major publishing house, this Author's responses to the review was extremely unprofessional.

Distractions

I started this blog knowing that I had a lot on my plate yet still thinking that I'd be able to keep up with it.  Baby sitting a 3 year old who's all go all the time, doctors appointments for my husband's back, working on my nano project (which I was able to complete but it's a complete mess and needs lots of work), and then tweaking the ideas from my nano project to make it to a readable book at some point.  Although I'm far from that point, it will get done!

Distractions!

Between my favorite authors coming out with their newest books, facebook, and everything else going on... I've been a little distracted when it comes to actual writing (hardly if anything getting written).  However, I'm actually excited about what I've come up with, within the last month or so.

Two types of vampires... one that's supposed to be extinct, the other still living (or dead), Royalty, a  unique main character who may or may not pose a threat to those living dead...   A forbidden romance, possible love triangle.

Those are just some vague details... now it's just a matter of getting rid of the distractions and getting the pen to the paper.
