50,000 words in 30 days...

50,000 words or more in 30 days, the entire month of November.  A complete manuscript in just a month.  Possible?  Impossible?  Who knows but it sounds both scary and exciting at the same time.  Nanowrimo, aka  National Novel Writing Month.  I came across the site from a friends facebook.  After checking it out, seeing what it was about and looking through the FAQsection, I said what the hell and signed up for it.

I've had 3 idea's for books I want to write but any motivation I have had, the internet or something else has been a distraction.  So why sign up for Nanowrimo?  Encouragement, motivation, chance to meet other's that love to write, actually getting a book written in a months time.  It might not be a great work of art, but it's a start.  So what's the worst that could happen?  I not finish?  Or maybe I finish and it takes a year or longer to edit and polish up before I can send it to an agent or publisher?  Either way, it'll be a great experience and I find myself growing more excited and scared as each day draws closer to the start of Nov. 1.

For those that have an idea for a book, or just love to write... go check out how Nanowrimo works and then join the site.
